Fair report of ITMA Asia Shanghai

Power-heat-Set was represented from 27th to the 31st of July with a booth at the ITMA Asia which took place the first time in Shanghai.

  IMGP08481.JPG

Power-Heat-Set displayed this time not only our existing heat setting system, the GVA equipment, but  presented to Chinese and the international professional audience the newest product: compact.jpg1.png-heat-set equipment“. The difference between overheated steam (GVA) and saturated steam (compact.jpg1.png-Heat-Set) was explained to a lot of visitors by the competent Team. Now Power-Heat-Set offers both systems and therefore can serve every customer optimally for his needs!

The visitors could be convinced with the compact.jpg1.png-Heat-Set equipment above all by the immense low energy consumption. Continuous research and development during the last years with regards to our existing equipment, the Power-Heat-Set GVA, resulted in big improvement not only in the run behaviour of the yarn, but also concerning the energy consumption. The new GVA 5000 beltversion cannot be compared any longer with the old “Suessen-equipment”.

Additionally to the ITMA exhibition, our Representative for China, Mr. Zhang Ze of CEO International (Holding) Inc. organized a symposium, which took place under a very pleasant ambience in the Hyatt Hotel Shanghai for more than 100 interested
Chinese trade visitors.

Representatives of the Zimmer Austria Mechanical engineering (printing), Schönherr Stäubli Group (weaving) as well as Power-Heat-Set (heatsetting) gave interesting lectures on their field of business.

The ideal BCF process is shown in the following graphic (Please click to enlarge the graphic):

Three parts of the process have been explained during the symposion in Shanghai by the suppliers Power-Heat-Set, Schönherr Stäubli and Zimmer Austria.

We guide you to find the right heat set method for your targets!

For our customers it is of determining meaning to filter out the right heatsetting procedure for their requirements.

The following criteria must be exactly checked before making the decision:

  • Material (PA, PP, PES, Wool, etc.)
  • Kind of Carpet (Wal to Wal, Rocks, Bath Matts, Woven, Tufted, Printed)
  • Optical Look (Pin Point/Tip Definition, Bulk, Frise, Color)
  • BCF or Staple Fibre, Cabling or Uptwisting
  • Production Quantity
  • Energie Consumption, Enviromental, Labor, Ergonomics
  • Maintanance, Spare Parts as well as Tare and Ware Parts

With the help of these criteria Power-Heat-Set will lead their customers optimally by the complex subject of the heatsetting procedure and guarantee the best solution for every customer. Therefore it is ensured that our customers receive the right quality and the right quantity to optimized costs in the end product!

Not against each other, but with each other and equally in rights. (Please click to enlarge the graphic)

In summary you have to see that every system brings advantages with itself and has therefore also authorization in the market. For heatsetting of the different yarn types (wool, PA 6, PA 6.6, PP, PES, Acrylic) the desired result is decisive for the choice of the procedure.

Also the different steam conditions have a huge meaning for the different heatsetting procedures:
Wet Steam
steam which contains water held in suspension mechanically; — called also misty steam > e.g. for Acryl Bulking
Saturated Steam
Steam at the temperature of the boiling point which corresponds to its pressure; — sometimes also applied to wet steam.
Superheated Steam (overheated stem)
Steam heated to a temperature higher than the boiling point corresponding to its pressure. It can not exist in contact with water, nor contain water, and resembles a perfect gas; — called also surcharged steam, anhydrous steam and steam gas and sometimes also applied to dry steam. Big run after Compact-Heat-Set

July 28th, 2008 | In sales and distribution | No comments

Visit from customersIn the past few weeks, we have had the pleasure of welcoming many customers to our company to see and test our new compact.jpg1.png heat set. Our Power-heat-set-Team welcomed customers from 5 different continents and almost 10 different countries, including Italy, Germany, Belgium, France, USA.

Our technicians did many test runs with approximately 30 tons of different types of yarn and thread sizes. Because of the excellent results and quality, some customers have decided to use our compact.jpg1.png heat set in their own production.  We are very pleased that our new product is having such a good beginning.

The customers could not believe the very small space required for processing. The required space (creel, compact heat set, and winding machine) is just 14 x 5 m (46 x 16 ft). Most amazing is the short dwell time of only 5–10 seconds.

“A new age of heatsetting with saturated steam has dawned” – was said by one customer. We have the same opinion!

Our compact.jpg1.png heat set stands not only for superior quality but in addition, has many other benefits, such as very low energy consumption. The energy consumption measured in real-time operation is, to our surprise, even lower than the original prototype. According to our calculations and comparisons with other available heat setting equipment and depending on the yarn material and count, we found that the cost per kg to heat set yarn is between 40%-70% less by using our new compact.jpg1.png Heat setting equipment (working with 2 units).

Here is a sample calculation based on heat setting polyamide with dtex 1600/2 with following costs:

  • electricity: 15,97 € cent/kWh
  • compressed air: 0,015 €/m³
  • water: 1,08 €/m³
  • steam: 70 €/t

IMG_1468.JPGThe costs are based on information from different sources, but are common for our area, particularly Europe.

We have calculated that the cost of compact.jpg1.png heat set (saturated steam) yarn is approximately 0,08 €/kg. The cost of our GVA (overheated steam) yarn will be approximately 0,10 €/kg, but the yarn cost from a cheap GVA copy is three times as high. The cost of yarn, which will be heat set under saturated steam with other equipment available on the market, has been calculated to be approximately 0,16 €/kg, which is still twice the cost of our compact.jpg1.png heat set. This savings is between 100.000 € and 300.000 € per year with compact.jpg1.png heat set.

If you are interested in having a detailed analysis for your company and specific yarn, you are welcome to contact us and we will be pleased to supply you with a calculation for your company and equipment.

First Visit In Gaziantep – Turkey

June 5th, 2008 | In sales and distribution | No comments
Author: Marcus Fink

Marcus_Fink_Klein.jpg First, I would like to introduce myself shortly. My name is Marcus Fink and I’m working for Power-heat-set sales, since one and a half year. During this time I learned a lot about Power-heat-set, the company itself, heatsetting, carpets and about our customers, which are settled all over the world.

Now I had the opportunity to make my first independent business trip to Gaziantep, Turkey, to visit our customers! 10 o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 26th of Mai in 2008, I departed from Munich airport. After a short flight I arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, where I had to wait for my connecting flight to Gaziantep some hours. In Gaziantep I arrived at the hotel Tugcan at about 9 o’clock in the evening. On Tuesday the 27th Hakan Gürdal our agent from Tekstil Servis and I started with our visits to our customers in Gaziantep.

During the next four days, we met more than 20 customers in order to discuss the business situation in Turkey (steady increasing energy costs, leasing taxes and other things), to talk about heatsetting projects and last but not least we also discussed our operating equipment of our customers. Nowadays, it is very important to take care about a good and amicable contact to the customers. My visit now and my future visits have mainly the aim to offer better service and support to our customers and friends in Gaziantep

I’m very pleased that I had the opportunity the get to know the country, the culture and to meet our customers personally, and I want to thank Mr. Peter Resch for believing in my skills and giving me this opportunity. Thanks also to Mr. Hakan Gürdal from Tekstil Servis for the support, hospitableness und the amicable accommodation in his native country.
