The development of Power-Heat-Set’s machines is up-to-date and the educational background of Power-Heat-Set’s staff members is continually updated. A current example is Waltraud Lederer, the personal assistant of our managing director. For 12 years she has taken part in extensive and demanding advanced training. Now her perseverance has been rewarded. The Open University, where she completed her most recent distance learning course asked for her permission to propose her as a candidate for the annual award for studies in the “Lifelong Learning” category. For the past 24 years, this honor has been awarded by the professional association Forum DistancE-Learning. Since 1985, the Forum DistancE-Learning has awarded the title, “Distance Learner of the year”. The distance learning alumni who receive this award are typical of the majority of the more than 300,000 distance learners who register in the program each year. Their learning success demonstrates the effectiveness of the learning system and their significant personal learning commitment, balanced with the challenges of home, family and employment. For the first time in 1988, Forum DistancE-Learning offered the award, “Lifelong Learning”. This honor is given every year to people who have shown in an impressive way that continuously retraining management is rewarded with occupational and private success as well as great personal satisfaction. This year, Waltraud Lederer was awarded third place in the category “Lifelong Learning” and given an official certificate. We are very proud of this accomplishment because it is only possible to receive this honor with great ambition and much pleasure in learning. When we asked Mrs. Lederer about her next aim, she told us that she is in the middle of further professional study which will end in November 2010 with a CCI examination. When she passes the exam, she will receive the title “Bachelor Professional (CCI) of Business”. With that, she will have achieved another of her major goals. Step by step, true to the motto “Lifelong Learning”.

Our senior technician Sepp Bauer celebrated this May his 60th birthday. The whole PHS-Team wishes him “Happy Birthday and Good Luck!”
Sepp installed our GVA machines already since more than 30 years. Therefore he is the really expert of the GVA. He started his career in the mid seventies by our sister company Resch Maschinenbau. During that time Resch Maschinenbau produced the GVA machines for their client “Hoerauf Suessen”. Because of his excellent expert knowledge Hoerauf asked him to install the GVA´s for them. Sepp changed to Hoerauf Suessen and we were happy that our produced GVA´s would be installed from one of our best men.
In the year 2002 Hoerauf Suessen decided to give up the whole heatsetting business and Resch Maschinenbau took them over and made the decision to build up a new company for that and so Power-Heat-Set GmbH was founded. And Sepp came back to his roots. Since 2002 he is our employee again. Sepp and our GVA´s is one unit. More than 30 years he travelled around the world to install them for our clients.
Sepp, keep well and fit. The next GVA´s are waiting for you!

I am Karin and I am working for Power-Heat-Set since 1 year. Some weeks ago I got the opportunity to take part of a kind of work exchange. My college Beth from Power-Heat-Set of America came over to Europe to see how we work here and how does the company and the people looks like.
So I went over to deputize her. I have had a really good time there. It was my second time in Dalton and I really enjoyed it. The people especially Dan and his wife Penelope took very good care of me. They joined me for Dinner, showed me around and talked a lot with me.But it wasn’t just holiday. I had also to work. So Monday to Friday I spent my days in the office where I placed orders, talked to customers and suppliers. I hope everyone was happy with me even my English is not so good.
Thanks to Dan I have had almost every day our Power-Heat-Set-Truck which I could use in my free time. At the weekend I went to Chattanooga/Tennessee. That’s only 30 miles north of Dalton. It’s a beautiful little city. There are a lot of bars, restaurants movies and a big shopping mall. After I went shopping in the Mall I visited a dragon boat race. That was really interesting. The weather was fine and the people pretty cool. On the way back to Dalton I past a motocross track in Tunnel Hill. Because I am a lot into motocross I turned around and went back to the track. There was a race so I watched it and met some interesting people. It was great fun.
Afterwards I have had another week of work to do. It was nice. I really like the way of working in the US. It’s a bit different to what I am used to in Germany but it’s really nice. After two weeks of work and a lot of beautiful impressions I went back to Germany.

Hey, my name is Ronny Gasch. I’m one of the latest members of our Power-Heat-Set-Family. My job is to care for your customers. If you need spare parts or if you have any technical issue I am your contact person.
Until last September I studied mechanical engineering in my hometown Leipzig. As you can read on our homepage www.power-heat-set.com I finished as one of the 5 best students of my year. Right after that I started to work at Power-Heat-Set. I decided for this job because I have good chances to place my whole new knowledge to this young company and I have the chance to get to know many interesting people in this diversified job.
One of my hobbies made it easy for me to leave my home country Saxony. I love winter sports. Especially skiing and snowboarding and Bavaria is the most perfect place in Germany to do this. You can see me and my board on the photo above. It was taken last winter. This year the winter is more like spring and we have only less snow. But I still wait for some snow.

Josef Bauer: Josef is our senior technician. As our customers are distributed all over the world, he is a real globetrotter and visited each continent for the installation of our heatsetting machines.
Josef is the charmer of our company and he always smells very good. Even blindfolded I would smell Josef entering the room. Hmmm, what a fragrance! Why can’t smell all men so good…Should we ask Josef for his secret?
