Review Domotex Hannover 2008

The Domotex in Hannover is a very important exhibition, as it has a leading position as the world’s most international floor coverings show.
This year, Power-Heat-Set and our business partner Gilbos, participated for the second time as exhibitors with a common booth. This gave our CEO, Mr. Peter Resch, the opportunity to meet customers, who exhibited at the Domotex Hannover 2008, at their booth, but also to meet customers, who came only as visitors to this important trade show, at our own booth.
Our booth attracted many visitors, who expressed their interest in our equipment and who wanted to have further explanations about our existing equipment and our new development. This was a welcome opportunity to explain the advantages of each system and that the decision for either system (overheated/superheated or saturated steam system) depends much on the requirements of our customers and their key markets. We had in-depth discussions about the advantages of heat setting with our new development, the GVA 5000 belt version for heat setting up to 72 ends, which, to name only a few, are.:
· Increased capacity by 25% or even 50% depending on dtex
· Improved streak free polyamide quality for frieze and straight yarn
· Energy Reduction up to 67% (steam consumption)
· Reduction of annual recurrent cost between 70.000 EUR to 140.000 EUR (depending on the yarn count)
Of course, many visitors to our booth were interested in our new development, the compact heat setting equipment, operating with saturated steam and were amazed to see the miniature exhibit of this machine, which was displayed at our booth and which demonstrated the different working positions of compact heatsetting and learn about the advantages of this system, which beside others are:
· Heat setting of PA, PA6, PA 6.6, PP, acrylic, wool
· Vertical material throughput with minimal yarn contact points
· Possibility to vary the bulk
· Very little steam consumption (between 30 and 40 kg/h)
· Precise tip definition
This year, Power-Heat-Set was represented by Mr. Peter Resch, our CEO, our senior technician, Mr. Jens Enger, and myself and we received active support through our representatives for Turkey, Mr. Ömer San and Mr. Hakan Gürdal and our representative for Iran, Mr. Khambiz Meghrazi.
Mr. Meghrazi had a very unfortunate start with his visit to the Domotex - he had to spend 48 hours at the airport in Teheran, as the airport had been snowed in and airport traffic had stopped completely.
Our business partner Gilbos was represented through Mr. Johan Heyvaert, Mr. John Sonck and Mr. Willie Lee from Gilbos America. We all received many visitors and had many discussions about our equipment and we were able to meet many of our customers and many representatives of companies, who we hope to gain as future customers. We also had the honour to welcome our valued customer, Mr. Abdullatif Abdullatif from Riyadh at our booth for in-depth discussions about our machines.
These four days in Hannover were memorable for myself and a big success for the company, because, not only did we receive many inquiries for quotations, but we were able to conclude several business contracts as well.
